Since the beginning of the Great Financial Crisis, the US has lost financial sector jobs. The losses in the five largest centers, NY, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco have exceeded the overall industry losses, as modest gains have been posted in more dispersed parts of the country. The dispersion of jobs is also occurring within the New York metropolitan region.
